How to get here

Aeolides is built in the heart of Lake Plastira, in the village of Kalyvia Pezoulas, the first village you encounter upon reaching the lake and the main lakeside settlement of the area.

The mountain route has now been reduced to just 25 minutes from the city of Karditsa, thanks to the new road network — a comfortable and safe drive with full accessibility throughout the year.

During the winter months, the road remains open, as Kalyvia Pezoulas serves as an activity center, hosting a medical clinic, pharmacy, bakery and numerous local businesses.
The main crossroads of the village is a key reference point from which visitors can easily reach the surrounding villages.

How to get here

We suggest the best driving routes from the major urban centers, as well as the mountain route from Karditsa to Lake Plastira — including clear directions on how to reach Aeolides.

Tip! We recommend that you do not unload your luggage from the car… come to us first so we can hand you your room key!

We suggest making a brief stop right outside the main building of our hotel, located on the lakeside road, as the rooms are housed in different buildings. Upon your arrival, we will guide you on where to park your car near your room.

We make sure you receive your key quickly and reach the privacy of your room in one of our stone-built accommodation buildings!

Athens – Karditsa Route

Follow the Athens–Lamia national highway. Before entering Lamia, you will see an exit on your right with signs for Domokos – Karpenissi – Karditsa – Trikala.
Take this exit, drive through the Lamia ring road and enter the E65 highway (Lamia–Trikala section).

On the E65, follow the signs toward Trikala.
Exit the highway at the Karditsa exit.
Along this route you will enter three roundabouts — simply follow the signs for “Karditsa – Lake Plastira.”

Thessaloniki – Karditsa Route

Follow the new Athens–Thessaloniki national highway and continue on the E75, heading toward Larissa.
As you approach Larissa, you have two options:

  1. Remain on the E75 and enter the Larissa ring road, taking the exit toward Karditsa,
    or

  2. Enter the city of Larissa by taking the first exit for Larissa on the E92 (old Athens–Thessaloniki highway).
Then enter Larissa through the 2nd or 3rd city entrance and continue along the main road, Iroon Polytechneiou Street. At a traffic light you will find the exit toward Karditsa.

You may bypass the city of Karditsa by following its ring road.
See the detailed mountain route below.

Mountain route to Lake Plastira

We recommend bypassing the city of Karditsa and using the Karditsa ring road.

Before entering the city, at a traffic light, turn left and follow the signs for Karditsa Hospital. Ignore any sign that reads “Dam” or “Lake Plastira” (there are two possible routes).
Once you reach the Hospital (it will be on your left), continue straight in your lane and you will arrive at the village of Mitropoli (the last village of the plain). Drive through it briefly and remain in your lane.
As you exit the village, the mountain route begins for the next 20 minutes.

The first village you will enter is Kalyvia Pezoulas, the village where the accommodation is located.

At the crossroads with the restaurants, turn left toward the lakeside of Lake Plastira, and you will arrive at the parking area of Aeolides.
